We find words of wisdom wherever we look for them. Our reading, others, tv shows or movies, songs, poems, stories, or history. I discovered this message recently.
I was told that I am in a powerful vortex of transmutation and change. The Violet Flame, a powerful spiritual tool of transformation, is said to be with me. All that has felt heavy, overwhelming, and dark is being transformed into opportunities for growth and freedom. This message resonates with me as I have been exploring ways to be a better me. Past dramas and traumas are now being cleared from my energy. I still struggle with exactly what to do. Another course, another workshop? The message continued by telling me “that willingness is enough and the universe will take care of the rest”. (Kyle Gray, 2023).

The message continued with information that I have received from other sources in recent months. “Surrender and release the old, the past, and all that no longer serves you.” (Gray). Well, this is certainly relevant. My husband and I are downsizing. We have been preparing to sell the home we’ve lived in for nearly 30 years. But there is more than just physical stuff. It is time to release old hurts, old beliefs and biases, old stories, and old habits. I must let go to make room for the new. I am reminded that the past does not define me. I am capable of overcoming whatever has held me back. Gray (2023) further writes “This is a time of alchemy, where you take what feels like lead, and turn it into gold – in your case health, wealth, and loving connections with others.”

Despite years of reading, courses, workshops, and self-development programs, I keep searching. I think letting go is what I need to embrace. Fears, resulting from past experiences and the stories I have created around them, have stagnated me. I need to let go, rewrite the stories, and move on. The time is now.
I received this message today, a day after I had written this blog. I think it is a perfect example of where we sometimes find words of wisdom – this was in a Facebook post.

Emotions are powerful.
They rise like waves — sometimes calm, sometimes crashing, sometimes completely overwhelming.
But here’s the truth:
Emotions are temporary. Decisions often are not.
In moments of anger, we say things we don’t mean.
In moments of heartbreak, we give up on things that still had life left in them.
In moments of fear, we shrink from opportunities that could’ve changed everything.
And sadly, many of us make permanent choices in those fleeting moments —
Quitting a job.
Ending a relationship.
Burning bridges.
Hurting people.
Hurting ourselves. Don’t let a passing emotion shape the rest of your life.
When emotions are high, logic is low.
And what feels unbearable today may feel manageable tomorrow — with time, space, and perspective.
So when you’re overwhelmed:
Pause.
Breathe.
Wait.
Don’t press send.
Don’t slam the door.
Don’t tattoo your pain onto your life story. Sleep on it.
Talk it out.
Journal. Meditate. Walk.
Give your heart the space to calm — and your mind the room to think.
You owe it to your future self not to burn down your life in a moment of emotional fire.
Make choices from clarity — not chaos.
From wisdom — not wounds.
Because your feelings are valid, yes…
But they are not always the truth.
And they are definitely not permanent.
